Build Stronger & Better-Looking Picture Frames & Boxes
This jig works with your table saw, and uses a single miter slot. It’s designed to handle cutting splines both in regular stock, picture frames, and boxes.
The spline joint is used to reinforce a basic miter joint, which is relatively weak by itself.
By adding a spline, the strength of the joint drasically increases. Splines can be made from any solid wood, using a contrasting color is typically how it’s done.
